Casey and Jess' Wedding

On June 1st, we celebrated the marriage of Jess and Casey. The wedding ceremony and celebration was held at Cedar Ridge Winery and Distillery in Swisher (just south of Cedar Rapids). It was a wonderful gathering of Jess’ best friends, our immediate family and extended families and Casey’s family and family friends. I was honored to serve as Jess’ Matron of Honor … even though that meant I had to give a speech. The day was nice — not too hot, not too cool and no rain (particularly important for an outdoor ceremony). We were even able to visit after the meal with friends and family in the outdoor area of the venue. It was great catching up with friends, family and spending extra time with Jess’ best friends.

I’m so happy for my little sister. Casey is perfect for her, and he is a great guy. We have enjoyed getting to know him over the last few years, and it is a great feeling to now officially call him our brother-in-law. I wish them a long and happy marriage!
