Bluebells with Emma

Typically my clients come to me, requesting a photo shoot. My latest shoot worked the other way around! I had seen other local photographers share photos of children and families in a gorgeous forest area, surrounded by pretty blue flowers. I did some research and discovered these flowers are known as bluebells and are found in a few forest areas in Cedar Falls. Once I knew where to find the flowers, I didn't have to look far for the perfect client ... I already knew!

After Emma's one-year indoor session, I asked her mama Abby if she'd be willing to have Emma serve as my baby model ... and she agreed! With the delayed spring weather, I wasn’t exactly sure when these flowers would bloom. Once the weather got warmer, I stopped by one of these areas and found a forest floor blanketed in beautiful blue flowers. Due to rain in the forecast, we squeezed the shoot in the next day. The setting had an almost magical feeling to it. A bit surreal to see bluebell flowers everywhere we turned. 

Emma was a great little model. We got smirks, smiles, laughs and serious stares! She had all the looks that day! I always enjoy taking photos of this sweet little one.
